Bite started in a lockdown kitchen in George with too much time, a love of chocolate, and a very willing appetite for experimentation. The brownies that came out of those months were so good - and so consistently requested at every braai, birthday, and dinner table - that eventually the question stopped being should we sell these? and became why aren't we already?

So in early 2024, that's what we did.

The round shape wasn't a gimmick. It was a solution to something we'd always quietly hated about brownies - the corner vs. centre debate. The scramble for the piece with the most filling. With ours, every single brownie is the best one. Crispy all the way around, soft through the middle, and individually filled - nougat, fudge, mint crisp, marshmallow - so nobody has to negotiate.

Our first flavour was nougat. Because chocolate and nougat together is, quite simply, perfection. It's still one of our most loved.
